More Information

Xenon lamps do not use in fog lights: constantly changing the configuration of the discharge violates the strictly calculated geometry of the light beam, and the headlight does not perform its direct function. For fog lights it is better to use only LED bulbs.

Nissan Versa Generations

Nissan Versa 15 Generation (2021)

The new Versa offers a combination of acceptable handling and a decent ride for the price. Cornering provides minimal lean, and the chassis is not overloaded or overdrives on the highway. The 7-inch SR alloy wheels and wider tires noticeably improve maneuverability over the S with its 15-inch steel wheels and thinner tires. Steering is light and numb but crisp, with a slightly soft but predictable braking feel.

Nissan Versa 14 Generation (2020)

The 2020 Versa is slightly larger than the previous generation -1.6 inches longer and 1.8 inches wider – and still offers nearly compact passenger seating, including a rear seat that fits real adults. The trunk is better than most compact cars at 14.7 cubic feet and expands with the standard 60/40 split-folding rear seat.

Nissan Versa 13 Generation (2019)

The 2019 SV Special Edition package now includes the ability to connect Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphones.

Nissan Versa 12 Generation (2018)

The 2018 adjustable front head restraints, map lights, and variable-intermittent windshield wipers are now standard.

Nissan Versa 11 Generation (2017)

A new SV Special Edition Package includes 15-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, chrome accents, variable intermittent windshield wipers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 5-inch color stereo display, Bluetooth streaming audio, satellite radio, hands-free text messaging, and a backup camera.

Nissan Versa 10 Generation (2016)

Body-color power side mirrors and rear speakers are now standard, and the up-level SL trim level gains a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Nissan Versa 9 Generation (2015)

Interior upgrades include a new center console that looks better than the previous plastic version of the Versa, a nicer steering wheel, and standard Bluetooth connectivity. As with most small cars today, you can choose the 2015 Versa with all sorts of electronic accessories, including a 5.8-inch touchscreen with app capability, voice commands, and navigation. The Versa’s surprisingly spacious interior remains a strong point, with one of the largest passenger cabs in its class and an expansive 14.9 cubic feet of trunk space.

Nissan Versa 8 Generation (2014)

All Versa sedans get suspension and steering tuning changes, and the base S trim level adds chrome accents, silver interior accents, a tachometer, and low-rolling-resistance tires. The mid-level SV trim gets a remote trunk release and a 60/40-split folding backseat while the top-of-the-line SL version adds 16-inch alloy wheels, a 4.3-inch stereo screen, and a satellite radio.

Nissan Versa 7 Generation (2013)

Versa sedans with the continuously variable automatic transmission are now rated at an EPA-estimated 40 mpg on the highway, and the different trim levels come with more features. The base S adds a trunk light and the SV gains cloth door trim, chrome door handles, and a driver’s-seat armrest. The top-level SL adds Nissan’s Intelligent Key, remote trunk release, and sun-visor extenders.

Nissan Versa 6 Generation (2012)

Nissan redesigned its Versa sedan last year. While the car’s styling isn’t particularly memorable, buyers will appreciate the roomy interior, low starting price, and fuel efficiency.

Nissan Versa 5 Generation (2011)

For 2011, there are no significant changes.

Nissan Versa 4 Generation (2010)

Like many small cars, the Versa’s suspension is firm to the touch, but it is gentler on rougher roads than the Honda Fit Sport. When the sidewalk is smoothed out, it moves quite comfortably, its movements resemble those of a larger car, and body roll is controlled.

Nissan Versa 3 Generation (2009)

The Nissan Versa Space & Comfort Cab is a good example of an efficient package. Looking at its small exterior, you might think that it’s not suitable for adults to drive in the front, let alone in the rear, but it’s not. It’s noticeably longer than the Toyota Yaris and Fit four-door hatchbacks, and Nissan takes advantage of the extra size by offering much more legroom in the back seat than either of those models.

Nissan Versa 2 Generation (2008)

The Versa has very confident handling, but it’s still good to know that there are safety features to back that feeling up. Side airbags mounted on the front passenger seats and side curtain airbags in the rear are standard. Anti-lock brakes are optional, and the electronic stabilization system is not.

Nissan Versa 1 Generation (2007)

The Versa has a monotone exterior with no side moldings, grilles, or chin spoilers. The grille bears a family resemblance to the larger Nissan Altima and Maxima sedans, and the side-mounted headlights are very large and angular. The large windshield and side windows-especially on the hatchback-increase visibility, and the back of the sedan sort things out neatly. The hatchback adds a bit of drama with sharp lines and triangular taillights that are reminiscent of the Nissan Murano SUV.
